Applications of BBa_K2087001

This biobrick has not yet been characterized. The purpose of this design is to be a template for a delivery system for small proteins passed the cell membrane of mammalian cells. Genes for protein placed upstream of the linker will be transcribed with teh aTcdB protein as one fusion protein, which will then be able to bind receptors on the cell surface, triggereing the formation oof an endosome. As the pH of the endosome drops, a conformational change is triggered in the protein, which allows it to push the glucosyl trasferase domain along with any protein attached to that domain out of the endosome. The glucosyl transferase domain then self cleaves, allowing the delivered protein to act at will inside the cell.
